Here’s how it works: at SAManage, we store all of our customers’ inventory in a central multi-tenant database. Whenever a customer installs a new piece of software, or IT equipment, it gets analyzed against the dictionary. If it does not yet exists in the dictionary, it will get added and than classified to determine the category, tags, risks related etc. The next time one of our customers uses an asset that exists in our dictionary, all the classification work is done automatically. This approach save significant resources and the time and expense involved in manual asset classification.
