At Samanage, we love Google Docs and Google Drive, the online productivity suite that lets you create and store documents, spreadsheets, and presentations and easily share them with others. And we’ve been using Dropbox forever to share files among the team.
Many of our users are using Drive and Dropbox as well, so today we’re excited to announce that we’ve integrated both Google Drive and Dropbox into Samanage!
The Drive and Dropbox integration is available with computers, other assets, contracts and all service desk objects, including comments. Attaching a file is really easy: simply choose from computer/Dropbox or Drive, a dialog will open asking you to sign into Drive/Dropbox and than select the file you wish to attach. The attached file will become a link under the Samanage object and clicking that link will open the attached file in a new window.
Note that sharing permissions for Drive and Dropbox are handled at their end – we do not know who you intend to share the file with so you will have to make sure that sharing permissions are properly set.
