Host Mapping allows you to brand the access to your Self-Service portal. Instead of using your SAManage account (https://acme.samanage.com) you can brand it with your own names under https://support.acme.com. This is done through setting up a DNS CNAME record (your network administrator would know how to do that) that redirect to your SAManage account AND setting up host mapping in your SAManage account (setup -> portal).
When setting up host mapping, the URL provided is also used in your email notification templates and any emails sent from your account – from password resets to comments on incidents. Check it out!
Host Mapping allows customers to access SAManage through “support.fugro.com” instead of “fugro.samanage.com”. Now when configured in the account, the links in the SD email notifications will be “support.fugro.com” as well. More customizations to come.
