Service catalog items now have a new variable type for date. When editing the variables, add a new variable and select “date” as the variable type. Dates have a label that is displayed for the user when asking for the input (“Enter due date:”) and can be set to mandatory or not.
Service catalog process tasks can now be assigned to various users based on their relationship with the incident:
Incident Assignee – this is the service user who is assigned to the incident.
Incident Assignee’s Manager – the manager of the incident’s assignee.
Incident Requester – the original user that requested the service.
Incident Requester’s Manager – the manager of the requesting user.
Using the new options you can create a complex workflow that requests approvals from the requesting user’s manager for example, and based on certain conditions in the process, request an approval from the Service Desk manager. This allows you to fine tune the approval process and further streamline your service request and delivery.
