Printers: introducing Printer Actions
We’ve updated the printers section to let you run reports on your printers and export the data, and are also introducing Printer Actions; now you can mark a printer as shared (useful to highlight your departmental printers), hide a printer from the list (for example, hide your home printers or temporary printers that are no longer used) and mark a driver to remove any logical print drivers from the list of printers (we will remove many of the logical drivers in the background but for the ones we’ve missed, now you can remove them yourself).
In addition you can capture the printer is located using the site and department and use that information in custom views and reports. Let us know what you think and how to further enhance this!
Email notifications: Personalized email names
When this option is enabled, emails originating from user actions will have the user’s name and email in the ‘From’ field. For example: when assigning a task, commenting on an incident, submitting a change request etc. To enable this option, go to /setup/email.
API: support for Custom fields
Custom fields added to any object in the application can now be accessed via the API like any other field.
Users in pick-lists
All users are now available in pick-lists across Other Assets, Computers, and Contracts (previously, only user and admin roles where available for selection). With this enhancement you can now assign assets to portal users (the employees in your organization) and set ownership on other objects in the application.
