One of the greatest benefits of SAManage’s SaaS IT asset management solution is the ease with which enterprises can manage assets at any point in their lifecycles, including maintenance, reassignment, and loans.
Tracking Offline Assets
To mark the start of any offline phase of an asset’s lifecycle, click on the asset’s listing on the Inventory tab, then choose the Lifecycle option. Next click the New Date button, complete the displayed fields, and click the Create Date button. SAManage includes event types to cover just about any situation you’d commonly encounter, and you can elaborate on the nature of the event in the Notes field.
Returning Offline Assets to Service or Accounting for Asset Disposition
Putting an asset back into service is just as easy: simply create a new event as described above and choose Service-Returned, Loan-Returned, or Spare-Returned as your Date Type. If an asset can’t be repaired or won’t be returned to service for some other reason, select Disposed as the Date Type and enter a note, if desired, to help you at tax time and when estimating the lifecycles of future asset acquisitions.
