There are those days when everything seems to go wrong and technology really isn’t on your side. Then the friendly people of the IT service desk stroll down to your desk and everything seems to work properly. You are finally a functioning member of the organization again! Here are those moments when you look at the IT team with a single glistening tear and think “Man, they are awesome.”
When it’s Monday morning and you sit down to power on your computer only to see the blue screen of death. They do some keyboard magic to make it go away.
When you forget your password, for the millionth time. They swoop in and simplify a new password for you.
When your second screen won’t sync with your laptop… again. They save you from throwing it out the window.
When the Internet goes down in the middle of crunch time to finish a report. They listen to your complaints as they diligently work to get everyone back up and running.
When the printer keeps denying you, no matter how many times you click ‘Print’. They come down, push a button, and your document prints seven times.
When you are feverishly clicking your mouse all over the screen and nothing happens. They walk up and turn your mouse to face the correct direction. (True story…)
When you say thank you to them for all the trips they’ve made to your desk in one week and immediate best friend status begins.
So go ahead and throw IT a high five or a side hug, they really do make the workday easier to survive.
