AI for Developers
You may have noticed a recent trend with artificial intelligence. A few weeks back, Salesforce introduced myEinstein to help developers leverage AI functionality for customizable purposes. Technology leaders have found a massive opportunity to sell the tools required to build AI features as an alternative to buying the features themselves.
The advantage is obvious: developers can create organization-specific features and functions from these tools instead of a one-size-fits-all, rigid product.
Falling inline, Amazon released its own set of AI developer tools this week with an AI-powered camera called DeepLens and a platform for machine learning called SageMaker. The idea is the same: use these tools to create the specific functionality for your business or even your personal life. The camera can recognize pets or family members. It can also differentiate between items or packages in a warehouse.

It’s been almost twenty years since data analytics hit the scene in baseball, and the influence has been undeniable (there’s a Brad Pitt movie to prove it). So while we’re on the subject of Amazon Web Services, the NFL just signed a deal for AWS machine learning and data analytics both for television presentation and for individual teams’ scouting and film work.
The advanced data measurements will actually put numbers and physics to the film, which helps teams scout and gives fans another dimension of insight during broadcasts. The head coaches might need to expand their analytics staffs, as technology isn’t always a strength.
