Today is a pretty special holiday here at the Samanage office. It’s System Administrator Appreciation Day!
(Really, it’s a thing. Wikipedia even says so. And who questions anything on Wikipedia?)
That’s right, today we celebrate the often unsung heroes of an organization – the system administrators. The ones that fix the web and application woes, printing predicaments, and busted buttons that keep us connected and in business.
So what did you get your system admin today?
Fear not! We are here to help. There is still plenty of time to show you appreciation. Turns out, we are expert shoppers here at Samanage (we’re pretty sure it was criteria on the recent 2014 Triangle Business Journal’s Best Places to Work survey).
That, and we did some serious market research around the hottest gifts for IT folks. In other words, we simply asked a few. Here’s a sample of what we got:
Apparel. “I can’t have too many t-shirts. They’re comfortable and practical when crawling under desks to untangle cords. We have a terrific sense of humor so funny sayings are a plus. But make sure it’s black.”
Gadgets. “I can’t tell you how many times I’m looking for a flashlight. Just a flashlight. Because I often need to find that one loose cable in the server closet…in the dark.”
Entertainment. “Simple…anything Game of Thrones.”
Office environment. “More sunshine. We are stuck indoors a lot.”
Caffeine. “Coffee. Don’t need a mug. Have plenty of mugs. Load me up with the good stuff on the inside.”
Grub. “Lunch. We are not hard to please.”
From all of us here at Samanage, we salute the system admins who make it a pleasure to provide ITSM software that makes it a pleasure to do business.
