From the energy to the company, HDI 2016 Conference and Expo outdid itself this year. We might not have rubbed elbows with Disney Princesses or spent time in Harry Potter World, but the feel around the HDI Conference was definitely the “Happiest Place on Earth.” One thing HDI is never short on is the ability to bring together some of the brightest minds and exceptional vendors in the IT service management space.
Each day in the Expo Hall we were in awe of the questions attendees brought to us, and even more excited to share how exactly Samanage could help them with these quandaries.
But we did more than just hang out at the booth and shoot Samanage rockets, we brought together some of the thought leaders that spoke throughout the conference. With Inc. Radio’s help, we’ll be putting together a compilation of podcasts and videos. We absolutely can’t wait to share them with you.
We also had the opportunity to attend sessions throughout the conference and get a better idea of the trends happening in the space that is so near and dear to our hearts. Here are a few of our favorite points from the week:
“A self-service portal is not a technology project. It’s a business strategy project. Get rid of the routine and mundane tickets through a self-service portal, and provide a better career path for your team.” – Kelly Doherty
“Invest first in people, then build processes around those people, then bring in technology to automate key processes and eliminate errors.” – Jeff Rumburg
“The outside world is changing and making it easier for consumers. Those same consumers are our customers. They are expecting the same experience at work that they get at home. Change the perception and focus on the culture of IT and where we can take it toward a service-based organization. They are going to change with or without us.” – Brad Paubel
“Leadership is simply the integration of ‘me’ and ‘we’. Make me feel a part of something, but still focused on me. People don’t want feedback, they want attention. Coaching attention – it’s not checking up on you, it’s check in with you.” – Marcus Buckingham
Now the countdown to FUSION 2016 in Las Vegas begins!
